The Mangrove team asked us to design a new brand mark, a flexible design system and a complete product range that would reflect their vibrant flavours and West African heritage.
The G and R of the logo come together perfectly to form an elephant, the hungriest visitor to tropical mangrove forests.
We created a tropical colour palette and a bold design language to make the big product range feel fresh and exciting with a touch of 70’s styling for a fun and gentle retro vibe.
Each product feels distinct with it’s own unique tropical colour combination but all of them are part of the same robust family. From baked beans to chilli powder, from sardines to yam flour, every item is both individual and on brand.
The design system extends across multiple product types and sizes, all tied together through the use of bold and simple typography and the use of the Mangrove Root pattern background.
We also created a new website that has the same energy as the products to showcase both the brand and the range. The “Full Colour Flavour” brand statement rolls across both digital marketing and real world adverting, letting consumers know that big taste is a key to all Mangrove products.
Why just eat it when you can also wear it? We designed a ton of merchandise to help launch the brand.
